If an outgoing person and suddenly becomes noticeably quiet and withdrawn, something may be wrong by the personal conduct. The patient may seem unusual discomfort and seemed frightened of people. You may also notice that a patient has recently started to behave like Mecca — nervously back and forth, biting their nails, heartbreaking and shaking hands. Or the patient may suddenly and curiously ask to be away from the crowd and left alone in your room. Sometimes a once loving and caring family that suddenly turn mean and vicious toward his family-this may also be a sign of verbal abuse of the elderly.

If the nursing home does not provide for these patients using this is considered neglect. Also, if the resident’s room or any facility inside the nursing home where the patient is exposed to unpleasant or is not safe, residents are being neglected. Last but not least, if the patient requires special care the situation must be addressed by the nursing staff. The patient can be fed or under the bed sores that could have been avoided if not for neglect.
Being well aware that there is much more serious results that may occur from abuse of the elderly. It all depends on the magnitude of the abuses.
